Here are my top picks for books, videos, and music from Amazon.COM!

The Monkees Lunchbox ($33.96):
This brand new lunchbox is an old-style metal lunchbox with some really nice pictures of the Monkees on all sides, and it comes with a puzzle (contained in a "cereal box"), and a video -- "Our Favorite Episodes" which has the episodes "Hitting the High Seas" (Davy), "Monkee Vs Machine" (Peter), "Fairy Tale" (Mike), and "Mijacogeo" (Micky). Very nice, and fun to use!
($18.95):
This is an unauthorized biography written by Randi Massingil -- I haven't read it but I've heard from those who have that it's pretty good. Warning: if you don't wanna know the grim and dirty truth about Nez, then don't read!
Elephant Parts video tape($19.99):
Mike Nesmith's groovey video, sorta Monkees meet MTV meet Saturday Night Live. Great music videos (mostly songs off of his solo album Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma), hilarious comedy sketches (he translates a mariachi song as saying "My clothes are radioactive" and "The fish eat my furniture"), a terrific video overall. A must-have!
. . . Tropical Campfires . . . cassette tape ($6.99):
This is a Nesmith solo album. There are some lovely songs on here, like Nez's version of "Begin the Beguine" and, my favorite, "I Am Not That" (which is hilarious!) A great album!
. . . Tropical Campfires . . .
Stranger Things Have Happened CD ($10.83):
Peter Tork's solo album Stranger Things Have Happened is a masterpiece! His banjo version of "Higher and Higher" is so lovely! There's also the laugh riot "Milkshake" and his lovely rendition of the Monkees' "Take a Giant Step" (titled "Giant Step" on here). A must have for any Monkees fan for sure, but I think even non-fans would enjoy this first solo CD from this multi-talented performer (who is currently working on a new CD!)
by Madeline L'Engle ($4.40):
This is one of my favorite books of all time. A Newberry Award Winning novel, it is an entrancing story. This is one of those books you really can't put down! Meg Murry and her five-year-old brother Charles Wallace, with the help of Meg's classmate Calvin O'Keefee and three mysterious old ladies (Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Who, and Mrs Witch), must save their father from a prison he entered a couple of years before when he tried to play with a scientific theorem no one knew enough about. A MUST read!!
by Madeline L'Engle ($4.40):
This is the sequel to A Wrinkle in Time, set one year later. This time, Charles Wallace is in danger -- his mitochondria are dying! Meg and Calvin must team up with a cherubim (who looks more like a drive of dragons than a little cubby angel), Louise the snake, a Teacher, and a farandola to save his life. If you loved A Wrinkle in Time, then you'll love this!!
by Madeline L'Engle ($4.40):
The third book in the A Wrinkle in Time set. Set about nine years after A Wind in the Door, this time Charles Wallace has to set off into the past to prevent a nuclear holocaust in the present. Meg is pregnant with her and Calvin's first child but she is able to go with him in spirit. My personal favorite of the set, and another must read.
by Madeline L'Engle ($4.40):
Though not directly related to the A Wrinkle in Time set, this book stars Meg and Charles' brothers, Sandy & Dennys, who accidentally mess around with an experiment in progress and find themselves in Biblical times. A must read for anyone who enjoys the story of Noah's Ark, or anyone who loves Madeline L'Engle's other works!
I'm a Believer: My Life of Monkees, Music, and Madness by Micky Dolenz and Mark Bego:
Micky Dolenz of the Monkees writes about his fascinating and full life (up until 1992 at least!), from his "pre-natal work", through "Circus Boy", "The Monkees", his directing career, his four daughters and more. The comedic style he's known for from The Monkees shines through here. Note: This book is out of print and difficult to find. Amazon will look for you but cannot guarantee finding a copy.
